Theatrical Afternoon at The Sad Café
The Sad Café is pleased to host an afternoon of performance,
music and family fun this Saturday, March 26th from 2 to 3 p.m.
Presented will be a short comic piece performed by two of the Sad
Café Players followed by selections from Godspell Jr., a
preview of the upcoming hugely popular musical to be performed at
the Sad Cafe in its’ entirety on May 6th and 7th.. The show
is directed by the gifted UNH senior Megan Weeman, Artistic Director
for The Sad Café Players, ably assisted by Donna Starr, longtime
volunteer for The Sad Café. There is no admission fee, however,
as part of the Save The Sad Café Project, donations will
gratefully be accepted at the door.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to see
what area youth do when they go to after school programs at The
Sad Café, said Andrea Bonner, Executive Director. “There
are so many talented teens in our schools, as well as adult volunteers
like Donna, who are concerned with community projects such as the
Save the Sad Café Project. We hope that families, friend
and community members will take a break from their busy day to celebrate
with us the inspirational giving and artistic spirit of the youth
of our towns.”
The Sad Cafe Players are a group of fifteen teens from both the
Sanborn and Timberlane school districts who attend the two after
school theater programs at The Sad Café. The Sad Café
also offers after school programs in karate, teen leadership development
and rock/popular music through the well known Making a Band program.
So please take an afternoon break from your weekend schedule to
relax with your family and friends at The Sad Café, located
at 148 Plaistow Rd, Rte 125 in Plaistow. The concession stand will
be open.
