Summer at Sad Cafe
June 18, 2004
PLAISTOW - The Sad Cafe in Plaistow will offer a variety of affordable
summer programs for teens and preteens.
Returning this year is the Making a Band Program, with openings
in the beginning, intermediate and advanced classes. This program
is perfect for any teen interested in learning the ins and outs
of playing in a rock/pop/alternative band, including musical lessons,
ensemble playing, getting a gig, doing sound, etc.
Also returning is Song and Dance for 9- to 15-year-olds. This program
teaches future American Idols the latest dance moves and how to
put them to a song.
The Sad Cafe will offer karate with Sensei Harry Charache of Onsite
Karate for boys and girls ages 9-15, all skill levels. This program
is a two-hour once weekly immersion in karate.
Theater Camp is a fun, hands on, no-pressure introduction - or
continuation, for those with theater experience - to acting, stagecraft
and production. The Sad Cafe is fortunate to have Jo Finkle, of
BlueSky Theater and off-Broadway productions, to lead this journey
into the magic of theater.
For information and to register, call Linda Ard at 382-8893 after
2 p.m. Scholarships are available through a grant from the Rockingham
County Commissioner’s Funds.
