Welcome to The Sad Café Volunteer Program

The Sad Café is very pleased that you are considering volunteering with us. The Sad Café is a local grass roots nonprofit that has many opportunities for volunteering. Volunteers are one of our greatest resources-without them The Sad Cafe could not continue to provide the many services to the community that are currently offered.

POSSIBLE VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES

All suggestions welcome!

Fundraising and Planning Special Events=FUN! Volunteer with The Friends of the Sad Café on major fundraising events by generating mailings, soliciting funds and resources, creating event materials and planning event.

CHAPERONE!!!
Help us ensure that youth have a fun and safe time with your presence at music and theater events. Enjoy the music, meet people and make a difference. Once a week, once a month – you decide. Chaperones always needed!

Development Assistant
Help with annual appeals, mailings, database entry, research, grant writing, business support, newsletter writing.

Community Assistant
Assist with one time community events like health fairs or in our new Family Resource Center compiling resource materials, seeking speakers for the evening educational speaker series, creating brochures and other materials.
BE A NETWORKER

The Sad Café is the lead agency for the local Sanborn/Timberlane Safe and Drug Free Community Coalition. Attend meetings and give feedback on community needs, work on community wide funding and development projects, or help with website, marketing, general maintenance, soliciting goods, YOU NAME IT WE NEED IT!

After School Programs
Do you have a special skill or hobby you would like to share with youth? Become part of our after school program and present your skill in a time limited workshop of 4 to 6 weeks.

Some possibilities:

  • Poetry writing
  • Puppetry
  • Quilting
  • Fiction Writing/Screenplays
  • Watercolors
  • OR assist with ongoing programs such as set building or singing instruction in our theater program or tutoring during homework time. The possibilities are endless!
